Oh damn, you went a lot further south.
Wasn't our idea. Though, it was actually a bit shorter of a trip to get there than Virginia Beach last year.

Also, I know it was already obvious... but I don't want to spend extended periods of time with these people. They're insufferable. Mom is good, if it was just the 2 of us it would've been fantastic. But the other 4 people are all arrogant, loudmouth, know-it-alls who are never wrong and are all trying to outdo everyone else. It was absolutely ridiculous.

Like, an example. My uncle's gf lives collecting sea shells. That's all she did the entire time, and she asked us to bring her any neat ones from the water if we find them. So my 10 year old cousin was super excited and when he'd find one he'd run it up to her. How did she respond? "What's that? You think that looks like something I would want? Don't you know what a full shell looks like? This is trash, no one would want that." Then she threw it back in the water. I mean, yeah, it was a broken shell, but he thought it was neat so he brought it to her and she calls it trash and throws it away. The least she could've done was thank him and then toss it away after when he's back in the water, at least explain you want complete shells rather than just calling it trash to his face.

Also, she's dumb. There were weird little palm trees, and one had clusters of fruit on it. I pointed it out and jokingly said "I love coconut grapes." And she immediately ran over and started grabbing them off the ground and was ready to eat it. I stopped her and said "Wait, those aren't really grapes, don't eat it! I have no idea what that really is, I was joking." And she hits me with a "looks like a grape, so it can't be poisonous." Then she refuses to believe that it's possibly toxic because it "looks good." Then she ate it... right off the ground. Then my uncle was searching up poison control in case she got sick. Turns out she was fine, but why do something so stupid? Then we went to the zoo today and they had a desert section full of cactuses. One had prickly pears on it, and her mouth was watering for them. She kept saying she wanted to eat one, so I asked if she's tried one before and she took that as confirmation that they're edible. She ran over and was plucking them off the cactus and the thorns in her fingers, but she was determined to get done to eat. Then we some weird fruit in another tree at another exhibit and she asked me if it was edible. I told her it looked toxic, hoping to discourage her. Then later she showed me that she a pocket full and was going to eat them too. I told her it's not a good idea, but she said I'd hear if she died and if I didn't hear that then it's fine. Mom said she was like that anytime they went out, just grabbing anything and trying to eat it. Then she called us dumb for trying to Google it rather than just eating it to see if we get sick. >_>

It was a stressful weekend.
