That doesn't contradict anything I said. I mean, I didn't even say anything except that it was juvenile and doesn't hold up to a lot of intellectual scrutiny. Which is uhh, yeah, that's about right.

Sure it does, as far as a fictional allegorical movie is supposed to. It doesn't have to redefine ethical philosophy; and to call it juvenile is a cynical take if anything.

You and the post you were responding to make the implicit claim that the movie endorses big brother politics by way of having its protagonist break ethical boundaries to defeat the villain, and that it glosses over the impact Bruce Wayne could have by funding other ventures instead of beating up criminals.

Thats incorrect because the movie makes clear the particular villain hesr would be here without regard to money and is exploiting already present police corruption and distrust. Most of those outreach things are corrupt(ironically this is also the case in The Batman, where Thomas Wayne's attempted outreach fund became a money laundering pit for the corrupt elite). Bruce waynes money would never reach the folks its intended to.

As for juvenile? Maybe its not so juvenile to think that some people can be good, and when pushed to the brink can act altruisticslly. Maybe you dont believe in that sort of thing anymore but that doesn't make it juvenile for anyone who does or wants to.
