Because the treatment is potentially dangerous? HRT is very different than breaking your fucking bones.it is very different from HRT, but HRT isn't the only form of gender-affirming care i dunno what the risk profile is like for this leg-lengthening surgery, but all surgeries have risks. my facial feminization surgery involved breaking one of my 'fucking bones', shaving a lot of other bones in my chin and forehead, and cutting out a lot of cartilage. they literally opened up my forehead sinus and put a metal plate over it. the risks include permanent numbness/other facial nerve injuries, severe voice damage, and (~very rarely~) permanent brain damage. my lower lip is probably going to be numb for 6 months post-surgery, and there's an outside chance I'll never regain sensation in it. I read about the risks beforehand and consented to them, just like you'd do for a leg-lengthening surgery --- creature-based ... Copied to Clipboard! |
