That's what they used in the old classic soda fountains as well. Maybe it's changed, but I'd be surprised. Well, okay, these days nothing should surprise me, but I'm sticking to my answer. It's not syrup anymore. They have the concentrated flavor and a sweetener that gets mixed with the carbonated water. That's how they get so many flavors.
