As with many areas, McMansions are encroaching on the canyons. Right across El Toro Road (one of the roads at the intersection giving Cooks Corner its name) is Portola Hills, an upper middle class (for CA, so $$$) that has been there for a while. Not much farther down the road are newer communities, some gated, with even larger, more expensive homes.
