In fairness Panic themselves had barely been involved in making games up to this point either, theyre mainly a software developer for Apple products. And the team that designed the playdate, Girlfriend Engineering, primarily make synthesizers and other music tools

OHHH thank you. That makes a ton of sense. The person they were talking to here also said she worked as a designer for Apple for a while, so that's probably how she got roped in. She clearly had no interest in making a game, but a game isn't exactly in her wheelhouse so I moreso blame Panic here for recruiting someone they knew is likely good at their job (but unfortunately that job isn't game design).

Yeah I saw some other "games" in the catalog that seemed very odd, like this one which is $9 for what looks like a low quality music player? Who's trying to use their Playdate as a music player?

That's hilarious and unfortunately something that is in the GameFAQs database. I might be falling one short of my quest here guys because I am not sure if I can justify spending $9 on something to play music on a device I will never use to listen to music. This makes even less sense than Boogie Loops.

ALSO BREAKING NEWS.

Playdate got more titles released. I haven't checked them out yet, but we're at a whopping 90 now. So I guess I should update my rankings some...

Currently Playing: Boogie Loops, Recommendation Dog

Games Completed: 2/90

Game Rankings:
2) Whitewater Wipeout
1) Casual Birder
