She had two movies (three now). She was the first video game character to appear in Playboy. She appeared in advertisements outside of gaming. Her popularity transcended the medium and, for a while there, she was a household name.

I never took the series myself, but I can't deny her place in history. She's been to the moon and back as far as video game character accomplishments are concerned.

But you forgot to mention that Tomb Raider and Lara Croft hold six Guinness world records, was one of the first characters who was inducted to the now defunct "walk of game" in San Francisco and the people of Derby England named a ring road after her:
