So, if you had to pick, which do you like more: 2D platformers or 3D platformers?

Personally, I find 2D platformers tend to have a smoother stream of action than 3D platformers, which sometimes get bogged down by pointless wandering.

Also, I prefer older 3D platformers over newer ones. I loved games like Mario 64 and Banjo-Kazooie, but a lot of later games (even as early as Banjo-Tooie) were prone to making levels too big and complicated for no reason. And I don't think it's nostalgia alone talking: I only played the original Crash Bandicoot and Spyro trilogies after they were remastered, and I enjoyed them a lot--especially the first in each trilogy.

Mind you, I enjoy both, but I prefer 2D.
