TopicIs there a worse job than working at a Nursing Home and you're one of the ones

It's not the job description that turns people off that work in those environments. There's plenty of CNAs and Nurses out there to fill those spots. It's just management that penny pinch and won't staff enough at a time that makes the job turnaround so high. It's no different than having a baby. Eventually we all grow old and need help using the bathroom or our bodies fail us enough that we need total cares. If you can care for a baby you can work in a nursing home.

The pay isn't terrible either since the amount of hours you can work is usually limitless in that field. A CNA can make from $16-18 a hour before the $1-3 differential depending on the shift and bonuses that are offered. Nurses I'm not sure exactly what their hourly wages are usually since you've got LPN and RN that can make anywhere from $50k-70k a year. I pass the meds and on average make $44k a year before bonuses. With current bonuses I make $68k a year. The pay could be better, but it's not completely terrible either. I live in the mid-south too.

Lots of worse jobs out there than a nursing home. You'd have to be pretty selfish to think it's a terrible job for people to have.
