I think this series' greatest strength is also its greatest weakness, which is how unbeholden to any storytelling rules or conventions its writer seems. Reading again this is a bit misleading so maybe I should clarify...I think Togashi takes great care to follow the in-universe rules his own story sets up. What I was trying to refer to here was that he doesn't really seem to pay much attention to broader conventions for how stories are told and just does what he thinks is interesting. --- I didn't do guru this year but azuarc can be in my sig anyways. ...
