Its a good spectacle. Its very much a leave your brains at the door sort of film. That isnt necessarily a bad thing. Just I need to be in the right mood to watch it. Sort of film where if Im channel hopping and bored Id be happy to have it on while doing other things.

Outside of the first viewing it doesnt really have that omg I need to watch it again feeling though. I kinda put it in the same category as the transformers films.

I agree with this. The more I think of the plot, the characters and their motivation, etc. the more of my enjoyment for the film goes down. I was definitely dazzled and amazed by the CGI, especially in an IMAX theater, because I never really experienced a movie that I felt so immersed in before. I still put it a 7.5/10 though.
