I'm pretty sure he's referring to excessive price increases that I was talking about and not simply what's necessary to account for the pay increase.

It's so obvious how you're trying to frame the narrative by shifting the discussion to the relative wage increase as a % when they're making fucking peanuts on their check.
Twenty percent looks too low so you're trying to get illiterate reactionaries to lose it over 60%.

We actually have stats. Labor costs for restaurants are only about 30%. (And don't forget that's not all servers.)
If we assume half that is servers and just double their wages (instead of +60%), that means costs only go up... 15%. Meaning prices only need to go up, 15%.

Or we could just look at almost every other country on the planet.
The 15% seems off. These people are making about $10 right now, so with an average of 5 servers, that's a bit over $100k. Average restaurant revenue is $500k. So if that specific labor cost goes up to $200k, we're already going from 20% to 40% right there, which is a 20% increase.

Not sure what you mean about the other countries comment. They already had good wages and I don't know of any that immediately jumped them up all of a sudden without any side effects, but I'm open to hearing about any that did.
