There's actually a pretty funny little side quest in one of the side stories that gives you a riddle to figure out the sex of each of the members. 2 are male, 2 are female The costume actually pretty much tells you straight up via... well I'm sure it's obvious. Ngl you definitely couldn't tell from their personality, since all of them are constantly mocking you.
