Watched the latest gundam and that was indeed a great episode. My only concern is that a lot of the cause for immediate conflict is wrapped up so we might have some slower episodes for a few weeks. Also that one girl was really trying her best to set as many death flags as possible which sorta ruined the impact of the death. Still, fantastic episode. This season has been great for gundam.

or how about you beat them, and then all it does is have the game give you a short cutscene of you somehow losing after all

I include that in my scripted losses. Is it really so hard to tell a story where the protagonist never loses in direct combat or really never ends up at the mercy of the villain who always goes james bond villain on em and either imprisons them or takes forever to kill them so they can get away, not only ruining the hero's credibility in fighting the villain, but the villains credibility in actually being competent.
