Arguably, but I'd say that that would still be described as going to the kitchen to cook, which is identifying the room as your destination and ascribing a specific function to it that doesn't depend on any other activities (putting aside for a moment the fact that eating the food shortly follows cooking it). By contrast, you don't go to the hallway to walk. You use the hallway to walk to other rooms, wherein you will do stuff. Again, it's a matter of journey vs. destination. If you make a habit of walking up and down the hallway just for the sake of walking through the hallway, then you could frame the hallway as being your destination and walking being the activity (in which case, it would become the walking room), but for the most part that's not the case and it exists only as an intermediary between destinations.
I do use the hallway for walking.
