Breath of the Wild. I've yet to see a remotely convincing or even an I-disagree-but-fine explanation as to how it's better than a generic Ubisoft game, it just feels like I'm getting gaslit every time.
Im not a fan of BotW, I played it for a while and it just never really hooked me. What I will say is that I think what separates it from your generic Ubisoft openworld type game is the amount of, for lack of a better word, fuckery that the devs have left room for in the game, which the community of players has found a lot of enjoyment in coming up with different and interesting ways to exploit. The amount of creativity it allows for and encourages in how you approach both the games combat and puzzles, especially in the era of clipping game footage to share on social media, has elevated the popularity of the game and built a community around it that might not have existed otherwise.
