NRS did it with their Konquest mode and Smash had it with their Single player modes as well. I think it was mostly the "hype" that E-Sports was going to take those games to a level never seen before. Obviously, relying on ONLY one aspect of the game, and one that barely any portion of your population is able to achieve is a not-so-great idea, but I suppose at least Capcom learned their lesson after Street Fighter V release. Of course, that wasn't the ONLY problem SFV had, but Capcom was also in a much more different financial situation for both game releases, but still, fighting games usually were "versus mode, (laggy and bad) online ranked mode, pay us the DLC characters". Thankfully at least SF6 is giving us World Tour, as well as some silly modes with Extreme Battles. --- Green Skip is my favorite UNO card. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
