My gripe about it is the design choice to make it more arcadey and the obvious glaring issue where if you die you just restart somewhere and you have to run all the way back. And the game's levels can often go into 20 minutes+ and expects you not to die in one sitting is ridiculous. I don't know if they changed it, but it seems they didn't.
