I only lost one heart to gloom , and that was due to me getting sloppy/slipping up yet again. I got a really strong sword (over double the amount of power of anything I've found so far) out of it, but it says something about wearing the user down over time, so I assume it applies gloom to you if you use it. Oh well. At least it was good practice.
