We literally have states who dont want to be in the 21st century and its so unfair to their citizens. Women being charged with murder for having abortion, borderline fascist propaganda being taught in schools, people being imprisoned for marijuana, and now this? These states have thrown Separation of Church and State out the windows. But we cant reign them in because we vehemently fear government intervention for whatever reason.
