Most of my rupees have come from selling stuff there. also they sell a shirt. also you may have encountered Bubbulfrogs. (spoiler tagging this to be super safe but its just a mechanics thing) When you defeat them, they turn into a little axolotl thing and run away. Hitting the little version of them makes them drop progressively better rupees.
