#28 - Artemis-2 Dog!
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/3/6/1/AAJ38fAAEGS5.jpg
I would repost the previous write-up, but I promised Ermine a new one this time.

Artemis-2 hails from the fur of Artemis Dog, the original, cloned fully formed in the laboratories of Wives 'R Us on Hardcore Station. The pup first was encountered as a threat, right smack dab in the middle of the establishment's lobby, where Artemis, during combat, couldn't bring himself to kill his own reflection. Left unconscious, Artemis-2 was eventually given a little bit of mercy at Artemis' encouragement to the Head which runs the Station. On a subsequent return, Artemis tracked down his wayward clone, and after a wild ride, the pair eventually came to an understanding and developed the first faint stirrings of brotherly bonds.

Now, despite their sprawling separation between stars, Artemis and Artemis-2 send each other messages constantly, relying on one another in a way that really only dogs can. Even if their missives rely primarily on pawprints alone at times, there is a clear connection that transcends simply cloning technology and a shared love for food and hats.

The pair would reunite in our Christmas sessions, bringing down the evil Admiral Nixonnoxin (who is, as you might expect, a dangerous former President leading Lady Styx's forces in the Hardcore Station space sector). A unique mechanic for Artemis-2 - if you roll higher than he does on a dice, he will take your roll and force you to roll again. He's just excited to help, okay?

Artemis-2 has quickly slipped into my reliable voice committee, a personality that I happily troll around with outside of session. His constant harrassment of the normally staid, mature Roz'etta has proven a delight, and I think there are many players who have expressed excitement to get more screentime with Artemis-2 themselves. For me, the character is a bit of a caricature of Artemis Dog the original, though he has some deep-seated, shared weaknesses that Artemis himself also is dealing with. The two both wrestle often with both the concept of love - something that animals their age struggle with in that they develop rapidly and yet still remain remarkably immature in that regard. They also both have had to deal with hard truths, such as their place in the grander scope of the cosmos. Artemis-2 in particular finds that his identity is one that is difficult to pin down. He's come to rely on tropes from Artemis One's life - he's sought out his own hat, for example. He wanted a Patch of his own, so he's been bribing a tiny teleporter alien named Glitch to be his friend. And Artemis-2, summoning up the history of campaign 1, went out of his way to take up a job as Deputy Dog for Checkpoint Justice on Hardcore Station, just so he could show off his badge.

While not a completely identical clone (it's clear that Artemis-2's knowledge of being a clone has affected him in tremendous ways, some as yet unseen), Artemis-2 falls into the vain of the doppelgangers which exist throughout the campaign - Ros, Foal Fruntell, and... well, there's another one already in the campaign, but we'll talk more about that when that news is revealed. Maybe on a future list. In any event, the reason for being is to witness how the characters react to themselves, relate to themselves, develop from spending time with something similar to who they are. In each case, to a man, these doppelgangers have develop close bonds with the player character of choice, and what's more, have evolved because of their presence. It's a fascinating thing.

I'm ranked dog! Haha. Rosetta has zero points.

#27 - another of the remaining bottom half draftees.
