Ros is a fascinating character to interact with - at first, simply echoes of "babe" in a gargoyle... Then slowly coming to the forefront.

With Saoirse, it's tricky because - Lush is her best friend (and she has feelings for her) - in her current form. The idea of Ros is somebody who existed in the past but no longer does. You can say that for a lot of people - Saoirse included! She would say who she was as a child is different from her adolescent self who is different from her married self who is different from Bad Bitches self who is different from her current iteration - and each is vastly different for different reasons. So it doesn't bother her that Lush is not who she used to be.

Ofc, Lush was mind-wiped and forces to become someone new. A lot of her memories are faked, and her personality traits might be implanted. And it was done by magic, which Saoirse uses, and by Zatanna, who she maybe would have had some affinity for. So there's a lot to have legitimate gripes for.

That being said, Saoirse thinks it's not fair for Lush to have to give up herself for the sake of her old self - if mindwiping is as good as murder, then let sleeping Cyndis lie. But that decision is not hers - it's Lush's, which makes things complicated, because she's the one who has to live with being "not a real person". And while Saoirse would always defend her, multiple influences tell Lush often that she doesn't matter, or that she's not real. Which is unfair.

Skip to Ros - a version of Lush who doesn't pretend she's straight who wants to feel alive and wants to get out. There are elements of her that can't be trusted for sure - and she's been a little skeevy as well towards Saoirse. But also, through it, Saoirse has tried to figure out what made Ros in the first place - and she's either finding out why or is being misled into thinking it.

In short, the belief is that Cyndi was a brat who never learned to take "no", and was sort of bred to be a hero, so all her eggs were in one basket and that basket fell hard. Shattered, she changed, ruing that she couldn't be what she thought she was supposed to be, but accepting who she was instead. So she really dove into the villainy, and over time was revealed to be worse than even Bolt, who worked for racists in C1.

Now, why did this happen? Saoirse thinks she was lonely - she had no one to catch her when she fell. She blames Bolt some, for turning Lush into a villain. Saoirse thinks Cyndi wanted to be a hero and still does, and thinks that her loneliness and trust issues are part of why she is how she is.

But what did Zatanna do? Did Zee take away the pain so Lush could be who she wanted to be? Is there some sort of psychopathy that Zee removed? Did Zee plan to get Cyndi just to punish her? So many questions... And we may have answers soon because we're trying to rescue Zatanna next week!

I think Ros's story mirrors Saoirse's a lot, in some ways. Cyndi wanted to be a hero, but was shut down - so she became the alternative. Saoirse was similar - she wanted to be a mother and have a family, but couldn't - she also couldn't be what her mother wanted her to be. So she ran, went full-punk, and challenged the status quo partially to be as opposite of what she couldn't be as possible. "If I can't be X, then I'll just embrace that I'm Y. That way, I won't disappoint myself or anyone that I can't be X."

The difference is, Saoirse fully blamed herself and I think Ros blamed others. Saoirse lived in guilt; Ros lived in anger. Perhaps there lies the development. Saoirse is learning to blame herself in the past less. Lush has learned to regret her past self's actions too. Would Ros do the same? Who knows.

We are on the precipice of possibly having Lush have the key to becoming whole again, as soon as Wednesday. This is going to put a whole new dynamic into play.

As much as Saoirse doesn't want to see it happen... I admit I have lots of curiosities. But I hope Scare sits on it a bit at least - the tension will be palpable.
