Kind of annoyed at the latest pokemon episode. I know the original series didn't really care about strength and type matchups that much, but how the hell does a fuecoco beat a rhydon using ember? A rhydon that somehow took out a metagross with ease? And why is seemingly smart badguy using corviknight against charizard instead of his flash fire ceruledge (actually it was hurt by fire before, but it doesn't have weak armor either so whatever) and how did it tank a direct hit flamethrower?

In the first 4 episodes, the pokemon power mostly made sense. The main sprigatito was quite weak until it did some ash's pikachu super powered up leafage that was clearly something extraordinary and not what it could normally do. That didn't happen here though. Also we see girl explorer who has a skarmory (who has quad resist vs grass) use her golduck vs that sprigatito and lose without even using her second pokemon? The bad guy team was actually coming off as pretty competent before this episode. They have good strong pokemon and they are pretty tenacious. If you're unevolved starter that literally JUST learned ember can defeat a rhydon, where else is there to go?
