The best way to get XP books, IMHO, is to get your teapot leveled up to the point where you're able to buy books every week. Once you reach this point, you buy them every week whether you need them or not, because teapot currency serves no purpose other than for buying the fragile resin and the XP materials. The second best way is to wait for a double leyline buff.
