I feel the narrative around video game movies always being bad was basically the combination of two factors: -A couple of high profile flops in the 90s (namely Super Mario Bros. and Street Fighter). -A lot of very poor video game movies coming from two directors, Uwe Boll and Paul WS Anderson. Once studios started taking game adaptations seriously again in the mid-2010s it didnt take long for better stuff to turn up. --- I just decided to change this sig.
