I am coming to prefer more of a Darwin Award approach to these issues rather than spending a whole bunch of societal resources to stop idiots from doing idiotic things. That said do I think ChatGPT and similar things are going to be a benefit to society? .....no. We don't need more brainless/moral-less entities summarizing the internet for us, even if it's written well. I can't think of many legitimately good applications.
