By now, DeSantis probably hates Trump as much as Democrats do. The Republican Party explicitly throwing Trump under the bus like that would be them tacitly admitting fault that they ever supported him in the first place, and we all know how well the GOP handles admitting fault. As much as some of them might hate him and want him gone privately, they can't afford to damage the GOP's reputation (at least in the eyes of their own voting base) by publicly popping the bubble on Trump's cult of personality.
