I just realized though: Decide to go into the military, just to make money and fight in war. Get captured. Become a POW. Get tortured to death. Go back an hour. Unless, after an eternity's worth of torture and death, do you think I'd gain some kind of mental resolve to survive the beatings? I think it would depend on you personally.
