And then he was in Ninja Turtles and Cool as Ice and faded away in the year 2000. Vanilla Ice was about as popular as Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, except the album with Ice Ice Baby went multi-plat. Will Smith went from Parents Just Don't Understand and Nightmare on My Street (plus the Fresh Prince Show) INTO Big Willie Style and was topping charts longer than Vanilla Ice was. I'm not even a fan of Will Smith, it's just weird to say he "tried" to make it as an artist, because he did with that album. It even seemed to help launch his movie career while he was doing Men in Black. I guess you could make an argument that his early music was "real hiphop" and the newer stuff was pop music or something. --- "You're made of spare parts, aren't ya, bud?" ... Copied to Clipboard! |
