Salt lake, Utah I'm guessing. TC are you willing to move to a place like Tennessee, Alabama? A lot of those states have large, minor cities that have convenience and low cost of living.

I was looking at houses near where my wifes grandparents live, they have 1 bedroom rentals for $400 and homes, including rent to own options for as low as $650 a month. Property taxes are likely very low also.
Yeah, Salt Lake is getting super expensive. I've looked into Tennessee--there are some nice art-centered communities in the north that are cheap. I haven't looked into Alabama at all.
