Apocalypse: Magic of Skyrim (by the same mod author as Ordinator) gets my highest recommendation -

It's Current Year, you don't need to waste dozens of hours experiencing firsthand how bland and underpowered vanilla Skyrim's magic is before modding it. Plus Apocalypse doesn't actually replace / alter anything, it's just additional spells.

Here's also a patch for Ordinator and Apocalypse - not essential, but good to have (place the patch underneath both Apocalypse and Ordinator in your Load Order):

After you've gotten your fill of the game, you'll want to dive into some quest mods. Clockwork gets my highest recommendation in this regard. I would also recommend The Forgotten City, Falskaar, and Wyrmstooth. The Tools of Kagrenac, The Grey Cowl of Nocturnal, Undeath: Remastered, and Moon and Star are also great, but rely heavily on callbacks to previous games.

Also, playing on XB with mods can give you a perfectly satisfactory experience for your first time out. The modding comparison between platforms is roughly thus:
PC = porterhouse cooked to perfection
XB = a Big Mac
PS = a half-eaten shit-smeared Arby's sandwich you found in a dumpster

Ain't nothing wrong with a Big Mac, especially if you're new to modding and just want some essential game enhancements. The majority of popular / worthwhile mods are available on XB at this point.
