I saw a good piece in the NYTimes a while back showing how the majority of people identifying as Evangelical are now statistically Republicans first and Christians secondif at all. (As judged by how commonly they associated themselves with core tenets of either) It changed statistically in the 80s-90s as they became absorbed into the party. CINOs?
