Instead the issue is more how they got him there which was outlandishly contrived. It makes sense to have the former lead as the grizzled boss in what was essentially a legacy sequel before legacy sequels were all over the place. There also isnt much issue with him pivoting back in Dual Destinies as the ending to AJ already sets this up. He had his dark night of the soul and was back as a practicing (and playable) lawyer in full standing. Where DD actually abruptly pivots is going from what would have been AJ2 with playable Phoenix to the Phoenix Wright show starring Phoenix Wright. --- I just decided to change this sig.
