No they are not afraid of him, they hate him and want to crush him, and they have the power to do so. Pretty sure all the January 6ers are thinking "The regime is so terrified of people like me"...while rotting in solitary confinement for months. If libs beat a maga guy to near death, the maga guy will say to himself "They only did this...*coughs up blood*...because they're afraid of me".....while lying in a giant pool of blood with his bones broken.
