#14 - Naomi Singh

In many ways, Naomi Singh is a foil to Brennus. Varra de Luca's closest friend within the League was none other than the Red Dart, a resourceful, small-time villain who has managed some extremely notable feats, including escaping from the Slab and stealing the Green Lantern's ring for a few minutes. But of particular note, he was a loyal friend and valuable ally to Varra during the war between Nyssa and Talia in No Man's Land. Now, years later, his presence has yet to be revealed in the renewed struggle between the daughters of Ra's al Ghul... but his daughter has stepped in to fill the void. The child of a local Sri Lankan woman, Naomi Singh's life was for years a quiet, unremarkable existence. However, her skill with technology caught the attention of Queen Industries, and suddenly the global company was erecting its first facility in Sri Lanka, all for her purposes.

Naomi wouldn't question it when Oliver Queen himself came to Sri Lanka to offer her a foundational position as the new Queen Industries engineer-in-residence; but perhaps she should have. After all, Varra had a very significant connection with Oliver Queen through Hal Jordan. Maybe she simply never had the time to think beyond the immediate; after all, it wouldn't be long before the world fell apart, Sri Lanka was invaded by the Equated, and Naomi rushed to Singapore. It was here, at the most crucial moment of her existence, that Naomi met the party. Immediately developing a rapport with Data 7, Naomi revealed that, while the world was falling apart, she had created a testcase, a prototype machine called the dodecoplegia - and its purpose? To uninfect an OMAC unit. Despite being a one-use object, the dodecoplegia proved to be immensely valuable right off of the get-go, saving the lives of Henry Fyff, a colleague of Naomi, and also Mister Unknown - another hero with tenuous connections to Brennus of all people.

I see Naomi has potentially integral to this campaign, once she's returned to Z'onn Z'orr. Of course, convincing Naomi to give up on the people of Singapore will prove to be difficult - she's stubborn, standing on principle and a firm morality, unlike her father. When this crisis is over, it's highly likely that Naomi's name will be written alongside the party's monikers for all of the good she could do the world... or the League could manage to reclaim the daughter of one of their own. And who knows what happens when the only way to stop and maybe even control the OMACs falls into the hands of Nyssa al Ghul.

In the meantime, Naomi is a confident, hard worker with limitless potential, both in the greater campaign and on a more intimate scale with several player characters - the scientists, Data, Brennus, and maybe even more than that.

Hint: Her father is NOT a supervillain.
