Sypha, Crono, and Trevor all theoretically have the best range here, and Vivi just auto-bounces anything right back at the former two that would come from a range, and probably lives a single hit from Trevor enough to Double Black Magic him, plus whatever damage he reflected back at the other guys. The Black Mages are more just pure homunculi than creatures of darkness (I don't THINK Mist was inherently evil in FFIX, though I could be misremembering), so the disruption potential for Vivi's kill count here was high. But Eunie just. Has a gun.
