It no longer has any connection with now good your service is and is more about 'do you respect your server (or the person who hands you a coffee) or not'. I vote for whoever said "make pricing/wages transparent" such that we can choose to avoid the places that pay their employees like crap and try to solve the actual problem as opposed to this make-a-show-of-it performance tipping. --- Pronounced "Whup-pot".
