Topic	Why do people think that aliens and UFO sightings are real.

People get so scared of aliens conquering us but there is no reason to believe they will be like us, they might not even be carbon based, or even made of an known element. They are a complete wild card. Simple logic can make some hard-to-refute deductions, though. There really aren't that many reasons for an alien to go through the trouble of coming here. Regardless of how they think they would not spend the (likely considerable) resources to come here without the expectation of getting something of value. Maybe that 'something' would be to simply observe another relatively advanced lifeform (as we hope to do someday) even though we wouldn't be as advanced them. Maybe that something would be to mine the Earth's resources. Those are just about the only two known reasons. It's possible there are unknown reasons (say, they want hover in harmony with our planet's magnetic field) but I think it would be wiser to base our potential interactions off from the known manners in which life operates....and I don't like the 50/50 coin flip, if 50/50 it is. --- Pronounced "Whup-pot".
