Nanis23 03/07/23 8:44:23 AM #68: | Guys, i'll admit it - I need help. I am suffering from a extreme case of FOMO and I don't know what to do. I really really don't like the idea of there being games that I will be unable to play at some point (and, well, the prices for second-handed games will skyrocket once the eshop closes...if they hadn't already). And yet I don't want to buy "everything" I am interested in Like, I think I want to check Yo-Kai Watch 2 and 3 at some point. I HATED the first one, and I went into it open minded (don't mind the auto battling as I enjoy the monster collection aspect more but it also sucked so...) But people said the sequels are better so I might want to try them at some point...but pay full price for them? not sure There is also the matter of ports. I don't have much free time, I can expand my backlog forever and not play those games - and then they might come out on another console evantually (good example is how Theatrhythm for Switch made Theatrhythm for 3DS obsolete) What about DLCs? How can I get over the "sunken cost" feeling? Like, I bought Awakening, I also think I bought a few essential DLCs for it, but not everything. Now I will always feel like I have a "incomplete game". The same is true for the other 2 FE games as well. And of course, any other 3DS game with DLCs (but mostly Fire Emblem) All those thoughts are really making me question if I should even bother think what I want to buy I feel like I just want to give up and say fuck it, I will pirate everything instead in the future The problem is, I am not sure how well the 3DS emulation is. And yes I know I can "Google-it" and there are compatibility lists everywhere But my experience with those lists from my days as a pirate...is that they are not perfect Like, a game can be marked "fully playable" but still has some game breaking bug later in the game - for example, Sonic Adventure 2 on Dreamcast had that ghost boss that dive underground not show it's "shadow" so you have no idea where you need to dig to attack it Super Mario Galaxy had a stage (Boo stage something) in which the platforms are invisible and do not render correctly so you have no idea where to jump on And of course, FPS can vary from machine to machine I am also afraid of hacking my 3DS (I have two...one European one US, each with different games). I am concerned about bricking it :| So yeah sorry for long post As I said...I need help --- wololo ... Copied to Clipboard! |
