I think G1 is excellently designed for the first boss of the game. The whole running and hiding in tight corridors and the fog makes for an excellent stage while not being too difficult because you're not just getting assaulted constantly. I also feel like I go through tons of ammo on him. Oh I used to blast rust in summer all the time.
