I have a friend who communicates in a very weird manner. She has an exceptionally emotionally tough time being honest about something difficult to say, so she invents stories to get her point across to that person indirectly. Is that passive aggressiveness? Mind you she doesnt do it maliciously, its just that she doesnt want to deal with the anxiety and emotional uncomfortableness that comes with talking about hard truths. I'll note that she doesnt see it this way though, she always seems to have a reason in her mind of how shes going about communicating is ok if the other person understands what shes trying to say. I'll also say its impossible to call her out on her stories because either she gets defensive or just flat out denies they arent truthful, sort of like a gaslighter I guess but she only becomes like this if someone trying to poke and prod what shes saying.
