It's the same with certain extremely exclusive cars, not exactly rocket science how a rare, high quality, in demand product can increase in value if there's a demand for it. Aftermarket sales for watches is a whole other than compared to retail. Most trade for below retail of course, but as mentioned, certain very highly sought after models trade for higher than retail.
