Yes, the story developed. Yes, there was likely some misdirection and spin all of the way through. But the mainstream media corrected itself over time, didn't it? You seem to have accepted the final facts they gave you, didn't you (if not their analysis of them)? For your point to make sense wouldn't a different form of media need to have given us better info? And even if we don't believe a single word of the mainstream I still see no logic that leads us to believe random people on the internet. It's just magical thinking.
