Okay so for those of you who haven't tried it out yet, you have the option of two scenarios. The first is a "long battle" run through a series of relatively weak encounters. The second is a a single battle against three more powerful foes.

You've got a small choice of equipment, but you can't check your actual combat abilities. Also you have a full stock of Trooper Cards (different in each scenario) to play with. Some of them are the "normal" ones (heal up, attack up, defense up, Heat up) and some are the wacky ones, like the shoot a kamehameha or swing a giant spinning sword.

While you can't change the individual Trooper Cards around, you can switch "Squads". You have a choice of seven, and can slot sets into each of your four styles.

I really want a chance to open up Brawler. It feels a little thin at the moment and it may be early game, but hey I grew up in this series brawling.

Swordsman is Slugger Style. Wide powerful swings. Haven't quite got the hang of the "special" move yet, but it seems like your average iaijutsu.

Gunner is "you stay the fuck away from me" style. Light attack: shoot the gun. Heavy attack: shoot the gun HARDER. There's also the spinny combo follow-ups. The first scenario also sets up some enemy gunman encounters designed for you to shoot back.

Wild Dancer, as Kircheis says, is the early favorite. It's very flowing and has a LOT going for it in both close up and far off attacks.
