And yes, it does make one groggy the next day. As for melatonin, I find that the lower the dose the better it works. Everytime I take 5 mg of melatonin, I find myself waking up. 3 mg of melatonin is okay. 1.5 mg is the perfect amount for me. A lot of people think that higher doses of melatonin are better.
