Sam Smith became the first out non-binary artist and Kim Petras the first out trans woman artist to win the Grammy for best duo/group performance.

And...damn, listening to Kim give the acceptance speech still chokes me up, days later. Long ago, she taught me that trans feminine joy was a thing. This little German girl from off the highway in the middle of nowhere, who patiently did all kinds of interviews from cis interviewers who inevitably asked fucking rude, invasive questions in young adulthood, who endured being a curiosity, whose become a star.
And I appreciate Sam for standing aside for her, in this moment, when trans women are the brunt of so much hate. They're good people.
