Yeah, it's one of the reasons why I hate that people bitched about the show not staying true to the books. The books sucked. Like the overall plot and narrative were mostly ok but there were huge tangents where people were talking about people from the past who themselves were talking about Geralt and co. Like just use a narrator's voice, don't complicate things by making 2 outside meta narrators. Plus the creepy rape stuff was not cool. Not to mention one of the plots involving said rape was entirely tangential and irrelevant to the plot other than to kind of explain what the Elder Blood meant.
