We'll put our pets down the instant their quality of life dips, or they are "suffering", but our family members and relatives? Suffer away, because suffering is very, very profitable in our country. I work in elder care. Trust me, no one wants to live to truly advanced age. It's not a life. Agreed. If you have a terminal illness that's going to leave you with prolonged, intense pain and suffering, why not have the choice to end things on your own terms? Saves you from going through that, and saves your relatives the anguish of watching you go through it.
