If you've done the 6.2 MSQ then you should be all caught up and ready to do new stuff on Tuesday. Make sure you've done all the quests from the 6.1 alliance raid as well. None of the other new stuff is gated behind anything recent. The fastest way to get your ilvl up is going to be obtaining a set of crafted gear (either buy it off the MB or have a friend make it for you), then upgrade it on Tuesday.
